What We Collect
- Content you upload – figures, DataFrames, and text you share via
skua.snap() - Anonymous session ID – a random identifier stored locally on your machine (
~/.skua/session) - Email address – only if you choose to verify your account
- IP address – for rate limiting and abuse prevention; not linked to identity
- Metadata – upload timestamps, content sizes, view counts
No tracking cookies. No telemetry from the Python package. No user agents or referrers logged.
How We Use Your Data
- Serve your uploaded content via generated URLs
- Enforce rate limits and usage quotas
- Send your authentication token when you verify your account
We do not sell, share, or monetize your data.
Product Updates
During account verification, you may opt in to receive occasional product updates by email. These are infrequent (at most monthly) and you can unsubscribe at any time. We will never share your email with third parties.
Data Retention
- Anonymous snapshots are deleted after 7 days
- Verified account snapshots are retained for 90 days from last update, up to 1 year
- Expired snapshots are permanently deleted (database record and stored file)
Analytics
We use Fathom Analytics for website analytics. Fathom does not use cookies, does not track personal data, and is GDPR/CCPA/PECR compliant.
Third Parties
We use trusted providers for hosting (Hetzner), frontend delivery (Cloudflare), email (Zeptomail), and analytics (Fathom). We do not use advertising or tracking services.
Open Source
The Skua Python package is open source (MIT License). You can inspect exactly what data the client sends.
Security
